About Me

Hi, my name is Joshua Kuo, and I'm currently a freshman at the University of Michigan. I was born in Michigan and raised in Shanghai, China, which is where I discovered my passion for the visual arts.

From the ages of five to fourteen, I was fortunate to travel around Asia, from the Fushimi Inari shrine in Kyoto, Japan, to Phi Phi Island in Thailand. Instinctively, it was impossible for me not to capture the moments. I always carried a sketchbook and had my dad's DSLR strapped around my shoulder, both documenting the scenery and my experiences. Those doodles, photos, and videos served as the foundation of my artistic voice as I began to learn how to tell a story through different mediums, using my experiences as a reference and inspiration. Each photo taken, each doodle drawn, and each video recorded put me one step forward in my artistic development.

Now I have 6 years of experience under my belt and am equipped with the skills necessary to provide you with high-quality visual media tailored to your needs. I have won multiple national awards and film festivals in the field of visual arts, and I specialize in photography and videography. I have worked on projects ranging from advertisement videos for businesses to corporate photography to individual personalized photography.

Now that I am back in Michigan, I'm always open to expanding my skillsets and taking on whatever opportunity I have.
